Hola from Jaco, Costa Rica!

We have officially begun our ministry here in Jaco, so I wanted to write a quick blog post to update y’all on our ministry plans here!

As we have all been eagerly awaiting our official ministry assignments, we have done ministry as we can around our Costa Rican host home!  Our home here is called Ocean’s Edge.

A little about Ocean’s Edge:

  • This beautiful ministry is a Christ-centered non-profit designed to “positively impact the world by helping others live the abundant life through a personal relationship ship with God”

  • Our super-hosts here are Hannah and April. We LOVE them! Hannah is Ocean Edge’s incredibly productive ministry director; she sees the natural, God-given talents in others and strongly promotes the use of those talents paired with the spiritual gifts for the purpose of ministry.  She is an awesome encourager and has been a warm host to us all.  I’m so excited to work with her more as we grow deeper in partnership with Ocean’s Edge.

  •  They partner with ministry and service groups from all over the world!  So if you’re reading this and would like to come serve in ministry here in Costa Rica, I would love to connect you with our hosts here to make that happen!

  • Here is Ocean’s Edge Website for y’all: http://oceansedge-lifestyle.com/

While our squad is here in Jaco, we are going to be assigned to various ministries according to our unique talents and spiritual gifts!  I’m thrilled to receive my own ministry assignment tomorrow!

We will be helping with ministry throughout the city in these various forms:

  • Park cleanup and restoration

  • Ministry through street art

  • Building ministry in business

  • Construction work

  • Prayer walks within the city (so far our prayers have been in regards to poverty, human trafficking, and addiction)

  • Surf club lessons with Tikos/Tikas (that what they call the local kids here)

  • Help at the local pregnancy center

  • Sunday school volunteering at church

Costa Rica is stunning, but I think my favorite part is the people so far; they are warm and rich in the love they give!  I can’t wait to dive into ministry more here and get to know them on a deeper level.

Please pray for the Lord to continue to improve my Spanish as I work on it!

Blessings to y’all as you pray for our squad and for the people of Jaco!

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” -Colossians 3:23

(Thank you, Momma, for putting that verse in my calendar this week!)
