We all lugged (some of us dragged) our large packs, stuffed into our air-porters, across the crowded airport and gathered curious stares from those around us. It was our first venture to the airport as a squad.
Our packs were incredibly bulky and heavy (I undoubtedly over-packed), the escalators were broken (but we found a set that were working in another area), checking in was mildly chaotic (there are 43 of us, plus our squad mentors), and we were moving from the moment we arrived until we boarded our flight.
All the while, I felt a need to notice the attitudes and actions of my squad members. Each of my squad mates were friendly, kind, and uplifting towards everyone. I noticed that each person we interacted with was immediately affected by our bright attitudes, friendliness, and willingness to accommodate and cooperate.
Every individual seemed a bit brighter after each encounter.
It was beautiful.
Airport and airline employees asked us at each checkpoint, check-in, and check-out where we were going and what we were doing. We were excited to share and received immense support and delight!
It was beautiful.
It was such a gift from the Lord to be blessed by each person in all the encounters we experienced as we journeyed through the airport; it was beautiful to share the love of Jesus in our small interactions, each step of the way, in what could have been an altogether stressful experience.
It goes to show that the opportunity for ministry is EVERYWHERE, in EVERY MOMENT, and in EVERY INTERACTION. I’m grateful our squad chose love and friendliness as an opportunity for minstry today.

Show hospitality to one another without grumbling.

I’m happy to hear of your positive experience at the airport. I pray for you and your team daily.
What an encouraging story! Thanks for showing us what it looks like to live Kingdom minded everywhere we go, even the airport. I’m so excited to continue following your journey overseas!
