As I sat back, pondered and prayed, I felt called to write a little more on a warfare prayer, specifically in regards to putting on the armor of God.

The Bible wouldn’t mention putting on the armor if it wasn’t absolutely crucial to our spiritual well-being and safety.

Ephesians 6:10-13 says this:

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole Armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.”

The continuation of this passage explains the Armor in detail of how we are to clothe ourselves in it and the significance of each piece:

“Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.  In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.”

This armor isn’t meaningless symbolic words on a page; it’s the full supernatural protection of God, and I firmly believe we are to clothe ourselves in it often.

Nine months ago, Jesus told me he wanted to draw something for me. (I am not an artist, mind you–but Jesus is.)  I got out a pen and some paper, and he drew me standing fiercely and strong in the Armor of God.  Within two weeks of that being drawn, a dear friend (who didn’t know anything about this image) received a vision from the Lord and described the exact image He had drawn of me.  She even used the verbiage “warrior princess”, just as the Holy Spirit had written!  I, then, showed her the drawing, and she confirmed that it was the identical image she had been unable to get out of her mind when she was speaking to me.

I encourage you to take time to sit with the Lord, pray the armor over yourself, and ask Jesus to show you what your own armor looks like.  It might surprise you in the most pleasant way.

For those of you who are curious, here is the image (like, WOW GOD).
