Why I’m Going on the World Race

Howdy, all you beautiful folks!

 

Welcome to my World Race blog!  For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Victoria Bacon.  I love Jesus, and if you’d like to hear more about what He’s called me toward in this season of my life, please read on!

In the last year and a half, Jesus has turned my world upside down (and in truly the best way possible).  The plans I had for myself were certainly (and thankfully) NOT the plans God had planned for me at all.  

Within that span of time, the Lord patiently called my heart each day closer into ministry.  For those of you who know me, you know how my heart longs for deep, personal connection with others.  However, it was within the last year that I really listened, heard, and began to understand that this was truly a calling from Jesus into a lifestyle far from normality or comfortability. 

Though I have been called to this unconventional lifestyle, I am not afraid; I am ready.  Jesus has prepared a path for me, and the next step in this path is my preparation for embarking upon the World Race in January of 2021! 

What is the World Race?

The World Race is an eleven month long mission trip to eleven countries around the world.  The World Race is unique in that it holds much more than a mission trip – it’s also a discipleship program designed to bring my generation into our specific Kingdom calling. 

The Lord placed a deep desire in my heart to go and serve others around the world, specifically by showing them the love of Jesus and sharing the good news!  The race will provide me the opportunity to do just that!  I will be traveling and serving in ministry in the following countries: Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, South Asia, Nepal, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Spain, Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile.  My team and I will be taking the “Unscripted” Route, meaning we will be seeking guidance from the Lord daily as we venture through our route, asking Him how to serve the people we encounter along our journey.  (This is the part I’m most excited about!)

I would love all the prayers from y’all as you partner with me on the journey that lies ahead.  Please pray for me, my squad, our safety, my family (the good ole’ Bacon Clan), my fundraising journey, and (of course) for all the people we encounter and serve in this adventure!
